I have worked in the F&B industry for over 30 years. I have a wealth of experience managing catering teams, working through change programmes and changing the culture of the team.
As Head of Catering at a large University, I was responsible for the catering offer for 36,000 students and 4,000 staff. In terms of food allergen management, I was passionate about ensuring that those students living away from home with food allergens were catered for safely. My team changed our processes to ensure we enhanced our food offer for food allergy students and we won the "Cost Sector Team of The Year Award in 2017". I was awarded Free From Hero Award 2018 specifically for the work I have done to raise awareness of allergens
My passion for this area was sparked when my youngest daughter started to have reactions to various food groups at the age of 14 years
I am in a unique position as I have experience as a caterer and also
as a parent of a young adult with food allergies.
