I am a Company Director for JGS Fire Safety Ltd (JGS) which I established in September 2016 just prior to retiring from Essex County Fire & Rescue Service (ECFRS) in October 2016 at the rank of Station Officer within the Technical Fire Safety Department, after 30+ years of exemplary service.

I continue to work closely with Local Authorities and Fire and Rescue Authorities.

Once I retired in October 2016, I continued my work in JGS on a full-time basis. Myself and a team of fire risk assessors conduct fire risk assessments for clients, give guidance and advice on fire safety and formulate fire safety policies and evacuation plans working alongside clients on the following types of premises:

• Schools
• Care Homes
• Offices and Shops
• Residential Communal Areas
• Historic Buildings
• Construction Sites
• Events
• Hotels
• Theatres

In January 2020, JGS and myself were audited by the SSAIB as part of the BAFE SP205 Third Party Accreditation Scheme. This was successfully passed and I was given the additional role of Fire Risk assessment Validator.
